Legend has it that coffee was first discovered in the mountains of Ethiopia by a young goatherd named Kaldi. He was most disturbed to find his goats dancing about excitedly after eating the brilliant red cherries and glossy green leaves of a tree that he had never seen before, lower down on the mountain. When his goats didn’t die of poisoning from the strange new fruit but rather returned to the trees again and again, he sampled the new fruit himself and our favorite habit was born. This blend is inspired by Kaldi’s dancing goats and contains a remarkable, earthy Ethiopian Harrar bean, blended with a high grown South American favorite. Brew this strong, with a pinch of ground cardamom and cinnamon, stir in a heaping spoonful of raw sugar and relive the early days of coffee’s rich history.
